Palliative Care Education and Workshops

Nurse Maude Hospice is committed to ensuring that those providing care to patients with life-limiting illnesses feel confident in their skills and knowledge and have access to appropriate education and support.

We offer a variety of courses and workshops for nurses, doctors, allied health professionals, care assistants, and support staff. We can also work with you to tailor seminars and workshops to meet your needs.

Syringe Driver Competency Programme

The Hospice New Zealand Syringe Driver Competency Programme is for registered and enrolled nurses and develops the knowledge and skills required to manage subcutaneous infusions using the Niki T34 / Bodyguard T syringe driver.

Foundations in Palliative Care

This 1-day workshop for nurses and allied health professionals aims to increase knowledge and understanding of the palliative approach.

Fundamentals of Palliative Care

The Fundamentals programme is for health professionals and caregivers. It provides an overview of how to care for people with palliative needs. It is delivered via a blended model of learning and consists of online modules and face-to-face workshops.

Palliative Care for Caregivers

This Hospice New Zealand education resource is an alternative to Fundamentals of Palliative Care and helps caregivers, working in all care settings, explore their
role in providing palliative care. One of the strengths of this course is that it is only for caregivers, and it values the contribution they make to care.
